I tried to get rid of a few of them. I put an ad in the Carolina Bargain Trader, but I only got one phone call. A lady called, who said her husband told her to call. She wanted to discuss it with him and call back. She never called back. I may have to feed them through the winter, then take them to auction. C'est la vie. Oh, and I just sent in another ad to find homes for these kittens. I have five that need homes. Otherwise, I'll have to take them to the pound and hope Saving Graces For Felines will pick them up.
Well, I start my new job on Monday, October 13th. At least I think I do. My new boss called me last Friday and offered me the job then went on vacation. To my knowledge he'll be returning to work on Monday. My current boss didn't give a counter offer. I really didn't think he would. It was just too big of a difference. My current position was posted in the company, and on the company web site (http://www.airgas.com/) and within two days I've heard that they've received over 40 applications. The position is posted for 10 days, so I can only imagine how many apps there will be!
So I will be working for Airgas National Carbonation.
I'm sort of looking forward to the change. Thanks for all the well-wishes. And thanks for the offer of a good meal, Jim. How can I get in touch? It's strange to think I will be driving a truck, especially for what they offered. No, I will NOT be getting rich. I don't even buy enough lottery tickets to get rich. In fact, playing the lottery for me is a rare occasion. But I digress. But the difference in pay was worth moving out of the office. At least, I think....I hope. (I'm gritting my teeth!)
Now this is not my truck. But I will have one similar to it. I know a couple of the guys I will be working with, and they're pretty cool. But for now, the suspense is killing me!!

Dear Randy, I do wish you the very best of luck in your new job. I am sure that a change at this point is a good thing and you seem the type of person who will soon be a valued colleague and team member. I do think that it was for the best that you did not have to consider an offer from your current employer, since having mentally adjusted to the new regime, I think it is best now to go ahead and forge a different path.
I am so sorry about your chicken and am appalled at the quantity of rain that you have had in such a short period. So frightening and so damaging.
Enjoy your weekend.
Good luck Randy in your new position. The company I work for uses Airgas. Now I know that you are expecting to win the lottery and I need a loan. LOL. Take care.
Were all those applications from within the company? Or is that just showing how many people are out of work here.
I hope you like your new job, Randy. I've not won the lottery yet either. I'm not even greedy. A hundred thousand would be perfect, haha.
But I don't play often, either.
That was some crazy rain, wasn't it?
You guys have a great weekend! :)
we are having insane rain too !
Hope you settle in to your new job quickly - you'll have to sing " Convoy " you know !
Hi Randy,..John Grey has my email, he'll give it to you.
Good luck with your new job.

In some ways change is always good, especially with more pay and a some new challenges. I hope you like it. Now you can buy that fancy chicken feed. (is there such a a thing?)
Pouring rain here in Virginia yesterday but a perfect day today!
Good luck and all the success in your new job Randy!!!
It's pissing down with rain here too. Good luck for Monday Randy, I'll be thinking of you......Drive carefully. xxx
Well, you just make SURE to get Plenty of exercise while driving the truck! Our neighbor drove a truck for 37 years and is Really wishing he had exercised...
Hope it's a dream job for you sweetie!!

Randy,
Hoping the day finds the sun shining for you. I just wanted to drop a quick little note of "Thanks". While you may have not know it when you posted you gave me a resource which to date I was unaware of. I checked the link for AirGas that you had attached to your post and found that there is a location only 13 miles from me. While we have no need for any of the gas products the company supplies the safety equipment looked interesting. And the MSDS library will be a great tool for the lab. So again I send my "Thanks". Let me know if you ever come up to the Virginia store and I'll see about stopping by and saying hello. - G
Randy, I'm so sorry you lost another of your silkies. I know they are among your favorites. I admire you -- jumping into this new opportunity and taking a chance. I truly believe you will be better for it. But what's this nonsense about putting your blog on hold for a while?? Not! At least not, I miss you when you're not around -- you emanate true friendship and warmth . . . and something feels different in the blogosphere when you are not around.
I wish you could send some of the rain here. Good luck on the new job!
Good luck, and enjoyment on your new job. I wish I was close enough to take the chickens and kittens off your hands. My husband, however, is quite happy we aren't nearby...

Once again, thanks for all the well wishes. Not all the applications were from inside. Maybe none of them, really. Glad I helped you out, Gary. It's a good company to work for, as well as do business with. I will certainly try with the exercise thing. If I could send you the rain, Philip, I would. Got a bit more yesterday. Hopefully clearing by the end of today. Put an ad in the Bargain Trader again. No luck with the chickens. I'm hoping for better chances with the cats. Now, the keep showing up from no where! Got a black one hanging out in the back. And two yellow ones were on my porch last night and this morning! I think someone is dropping them off!! I'll try to stick around when I can in blogland!
~Randy
Randy, thanks for the thought (of your bum!) Don't stop blogging please, I'd hate to lose such a wonderful friend....xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
