This is my Nearly Wild Rose
Nearly Wild Roses from the deck
My Something Rose. I don't remember what kind of rose this is, but it starts out red, then gets more yellow in it, before it fades to a pretty pink

My Something Rose Bush
Got this plant from a neighbor. He called it Sweet Betsy. It has these little brown pods that open up like flowers. They smell like strawberry wine coolers.
Then there's this bush. It looks like a rose bush, but it has no thorns. It was growing behind the shed when we moved in, so I dug it up and transplanted it.
A close up of the leaves
And these are the flowers. We've never seen it bloom. We transplanted it last spring and it didn't bloom. But this year it did. In fact, it just started blooming this past week. There are tiny buds all over. Does anyone have any idea what kind of plant this is? If it blooms all over like this it will be very pretty.

All very beautiful..., but I would love to know what that plant is that has seed pods that open and smell like Strawberry Wine Coolers. Does Sweet Betsy have a botanical name?
All very pretty. Thank you for sharing. :)
It looks like a wild thornless rose to me. I'm not sure though. I have one but mine have thorns but I've seen them without thorns. You have some beautiful roses. The plant you called Sweet Betsy looks like spiders on it - I know it's buds - but you say it smells like strawberry wine coolers - I have to have one - wine cooler I mean.
Ya'll have a good evening.
I can't believe your zinnia's aren't coming up. It may take them 2-3 weeks to come up. If they aren't up plant some more seeds. You'll have lots of zinnias.
The plant that smells like wine coolers is known as Calycanthus floridus or Carolina Allspice
Actually, the wine coolers sound good, Becca. Thanks Doc. Farmlady was interested in it. It's a great plant!

beautiful. I miss my plantings at our former home but oh well... starting over
i think we are all blogging about similar themes over the last day or so...just planted some roses a day ago!
Those roses look GREAT! I'd like to think that I am helping everyone to become roseaholics.LOL
I use to have one of those mystery roses...never can remember the name! Sorry...
LOVE the Heirloom pink rose at the top!
Great shots Randy!

Nice work there
great photos. Thank God for Spring! I wonder if your something rose is "Joseph's Coat."
Pretty roses! I had to snatch all of mine out last summer after the Japanese beetles and deer bruatlized them. I gave them to my friend, Pretty Sam. He swears they are blooming and gorgeous. I'd rather not know!
purdy flowers! It's still cool and rainy here so it's going to be awhile before we see flowers.
I love that orangish colored rose! Nice photos of all your blooms and bushes.
I thought John would know the name !
Bramble has a red tinge in his hair which shows up in the sun - it's like he has a Henna rinsce in. It's lovely. How is Stripey Cat ?
I really need to learn more about flowers. I do well with animals, but living plants are beyond me.

Pretty! Have any plants that smell like margaritas?? That'd be the plant for me!
I think I agree with Christine H. That one looks like a Joseph's Coat rose. Wouldn't swear to it, but I think so...
I am so glad I am not the only one who has "oh, yes, it's a plant" names for what's in the garden!
Cat
those are pretty roses, I have some wild rose bushes I inherited along with the house, not a huge fan of roses myself.
