Out With The Old, In With The Soon To Be Old

Hope everyone out there in blogland has a wonderful new year.  Don't waste your time with resolutions.  Either you are going to do it, or you are not...plain and simple.  Dieting?  Quitting a bad habit?  Eating healthier?  Spending more time with family and friends?  Just do it.

But whatever you do this year, do it with gusto.  Do it with umph. Do it with pride.  Make 2010 a great year in spite of any obastacles that my lie ahead.  I hope with all my heart that all of you have the happiest new year, at least for the first few days.  It is what you make it!

Amen, Brother! I do believe happiness is a choice. Even when life deals you crap, you can always come up with some bathroom humor to help you through it...that and a whole bottle of clorox!

Happy New Year! And quick, take that picture of my ass down before somebody else sees it!

I think you just gave me my motto for this year. By the time you read this, I'll probably be 40. This needs to be an "on purpose year," no more just shuffling along. Thanks for the nudge.

Happy new year!

Randy -- I had to come back and respond to the comment you left on my birthday post today. I remember thinking 33 was a milestone as my husband turned that age for the same reason. Too funny! (He's 7 years older than I.) When he turned 34, I took great joy in telling him he was "older than God." Oh, how hysterical that seemed!

Not quite so funny now that we're both well past that age!

I find it unsettling to be ages now that I can remember my parents being. My parents had children so much younger than I did. When my mother was 40, her daughter (me) was moving out of the house! Mine is 6. Something about that whole dynamic makes me feel really old and kind of behind.

What is it about you guys that makes me leave such long comments??? I only do this here!! So sorry!

Going now . . .
